Whether you need more horsepower or it's time to scale your plan down, it's easy to upgrade or downgrade directly from the Rapyd dashboard.

This guide goes over the steps for upgrading and downgrading a plan with Rapyd. If you haven't already seen our guide on how the account structure works, consider checking that out first: Understanding Rapyd's Account and Billing Structure

Upgrading a plan

If you want to change your plan payment frequency from monthly to yearly, please reach out to our support team for assistance.

1) Access the billing area of the dashboard

Log in to the Rapyd dashboard, then navigate to the Billing area by clicking the link in the main dashboard menu.

2) Access the subscription that contains the plan

In the billing area, you will see all of your subscriptions listed. Find the subscription that contains the plan that you want to upgrade, then click View subscription.

3) Edit your site's plan

After accessing the subscription, you will see every plan that you have active in the subscription. Keep in mind that you might have more plans that actual sites. If this is the case and you're unsure why, please reach out to support and we'll be happy to help.

For the site that you want to upgrade, click the pencil icon on the far right.

4) Select your new plan

After clicking the pencil icon, a popup will appear that allows you to select your new plan in the first dropdown field.

5) Select your plan's level

In the second dropdown field, you can specify the level that you want to upgrade to. Our Startup, Performance, and Enterprise plans each have five levels.

As you explore plans and levels, you will see a brief description about what type of site the plan and level is best suited for, along with technical specs. Learn more about the plans that we offer here: Comparing Rapyd Plans

Upgrade & Downgrade Limitations

Upgrading is quick and easy, but there are limitations to downgrading your plan on Rapyd. Please be aware of these restrictions prior to any plan upgrades.

Monthly Subscriptions

Within a specific plan tier, you can upgrade and downgrade freely. However, you cannot downgrade plan tiers.

For example, if you current have Performance 3, you could downgrade to Performance 1. However, you could not downgrade to Startup 5 or any other plan below Performance 5. See our Up/Downgrading Monthly Plans table for more

Yearly Subscriptions

Downgrading yearly subscriptions is not permitted, as the yearly subscriptions payment covers a specified plan and level for a 12-month period. If you feel that a downgrade is necessary, please contact our support team.

6) Confirm your plan upgrade

Finally, when you have selected the plan and level that you want to upgrade to, scroll down to the bottom of the popup and click Change plan to continue. Clicking this button will immediately carry out the upgrade and allocate the new plan's resources to your site.
