How to Upgrade or Downgrade Your Plan

Learn how to change your Rapyd Cloud plan, including upgrade steps, downgrade rules, and important billing notes.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time through the Rapyd Cloud dashboard. Whether you're scaling up for more performance or simplifying your setup, the process is almost the same.

How to Upgrade or Downgrade

Step 1: Access the Sites Page

Log into your Rapyd Cloud dashboard and go to the Sites page.

Step 2: Click Manage Environment

Click the three-dot menu for the site that you want to upgrade. Then click Manage environment.

Step 3: Click Edit Plan

In the Environment management area, click the Edit plan link. This opens the edit plan modal, where you'll see a breakdown of your current plan and its cost on the left, along with your subscription details and payment method at the top.

Step 4: Selecting a New Plan

  1. Choose your plan tier

  2. Select your plan level

  3. Review plan details, including:

    • Sites included

    • Add-on sites

    • Pricing (including add-ons and storage)

  4. At the bottom, review your prorated total based on your last payment and next renewal date

  5. Click Change plan

Your plan change takes effect immediately. A short downtime (up to 5 minutes) may occur during the resource reallocation.

Important Notes on Downgrades

  • You can downgrade within the same tier. Contact our support team if you would like to do this.

  • You cannot downgrade to a lower tier (e.g. Performance → Starter) due to disk space differences. Contact support if you need help.

  • Site Limits: Your current plan must not exceed the number of sites allowed on the lower plan. If your plan does not exceed that limit, but it has more sites than the included sites in the lower plan, excess sites will become paid add-ons at $20/month each.

  • Annual Plans: Downgrades for yearly plans are not available in the dashboard. Contact support for assistance.

Conclusion

Changing your plan is fast and easy—and you’ll only be billed for the prorated difference. If you’re unsure which plan fits best, or want help evaluating a downgrade, our support team is here to help.
