Rapyd Cloud’s multi-site plans let you host multiple WordPress sites under a single environment. Each plan includes a set number of site slots, with the option to add more if needed. This guide explains how site limits work, what happens when you reach them, and how billing is handled for additional sites.

Single-site vs. Multi-site Plans

Rapyd Cloud offers two types of hosting plans:

  • Single-site plans are designed to host one WordPress site per environment. They’re ideal for individuals or businesses with a single project, such as a personal site, blog, or company website.

  • Multi-site plans are built for agencies, freelancers, or businesses managing multiple websites. These plans let you host several independent WordPress sites within a single environment, each with its own resources and domain settings.

This guide focuses on multi-site plans, how site limits work at each plan level, and what to do if you need more sites than your current plan includes.

Breakdown of Site Limits

Each multi-site plan includes a base number of sites and a maximum limit. You can add more sites by either purchasing additional slots or upgrading to a higher level.

How to Add Additional Sites to a Plan

Step 1: Go to Environments Section of Dashboard

Access your Rapyd Cloud dashboard and go to the Environments section.

Step 2: Click Edit Plan

This opens the edit plan modal, where you are make adjustments.

Step 3: Adjust the Number of Sites

In the edit plan modal, near the bottom, you can click on the plus (+) icon to add a site to your plan.

Step 4: Click Change Plan to Finish

Once you have added the site(s), you can click the Change plan button to finalize the process. See below to learn how billing works for add-on sites.

How Billing Works for Extra Sites

When you add more sites than your plan includes:

  • You’re charged $19/month per extra site.

  • These charges are prorated to match your current billing cycle.

  • If you later upgrade to a level that includes more sites, the extra site charges are automatically removed if no longer needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the limits for Lite and Developer plans?

Our Lite and Developer plans only come with the options for single-site. If you need to add another site, the Startup Flex plans are designed as a stepping stone to multi-site plans.

What counts as a “site”?
Each site is a standalone WordPress installation. A WordPress multisite network still counts as one site in this context.

Can I add more sites than my plan’s maximum?
No. If you've hit the maximum allowed for your current plan level, you must upgrade to add more.

What happens if I downgrade?
If your new level includes fewer sites than you’re currently using, you’ll need to remove sites or deploy a second environment to remain within limits.

Conclusion

Multi-site plans give you the flexibility to manage multiple projects under one environment. Each plan level has its own limits, but you can scale by adding extra sites or upgrading as needed. For the full technical breakdown, see Rapyd Plan Technical Specifications.
