Cancelling and closing your Rapyd Cloud Account

A step-by-step overview of how to cancel your subscription and permanently delete your account.

Overview

Leaving Rapyd Cloud is a multi-step process with a specific order. Sites, environments, and subscriptions must each be dealt with before account deletion becomes possible. Skipping or reordering steps will result in the dashboard blocking you from proceeding.

This article outlines the full sequence and links to detailed instructions for each step. If you only need to cancel a subscription without deleting your account, you can jump directly to that step below.

In this article, you will find a summary of the full process, an explanation of what each step involves, and links to the relevant how-to guides.

Full process at a glance

Closing your account requires completing the following steps in order:

  1. Delete all sites in your environment

  2. Delete your environment

  3. Cancel your subscription

  4. Delete your account

Each step is a prerequisite for the next. The sections below explain what is involved at each stage.

Step 1: Delete your site

Sites are WordPress installations that live inside an environment. All sites must be deleted before the environment can be removed.

Deleting a site is permanent. All site files, databases, and backups stored on Rapyd Cloud are removed on confirmation. Download any backups you want to keep before proceeding.

See How to Delete a Site for instructions.

Step 2: Delete your environment

An environment is the server your sites ran on. Once all sites are deleted, the environment can be removed. Deleting the environment empties its associated plan, which is required before the subscription can be cancelled.

All configuration, logs, files, and backups associated with the environment are permanently deleted on confirmation.

See How to Delete an Environment for instructions.

Step 3: Cancel your subscription

Once all environments are deleted and their plans are empty, the subscription can be cancelled. How you do this depends on your plan type.

  • Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled directly from the Billing section of the dashboard

  • Annual subscriptions cannot be cancelled from the dashboard and require contacting our support team. If you are within your 14-day cancellation window, a full refund may be available

See How to Cancel a Subscription for instructions.

Step 4: Delete your account

Once all subscriptions are cancelled, your account can be deleted from the Account details section of the dashboard. This is permanent and cannot be undone.

Conclusion

Closing your Rapyd Cloud account takes a few steps, but each one is straightforward with the right guide. If you have any questions at any point in the process, our support team is available 24/7.
