Expanding a site's local storage is a straightforward process with our local storage add-on. This guide walks you through the steps for adding more storage and provides important information regarding billing and plan upgrades.

Step-by-step: Adding Local Storage

Adding local storage allows you to increase your SSD space in increments of 50GB, providing more flexibility as your needs grow.

1. Access the Billing Area

Navigate to the Billing section from your dashboard. This can be found in the top menu bar. Click View subscription, then the Edit Plan pencil icon next to your current plan.

2. Choose Local Storage Add-ons

In the Local Storage section, you’ll be able to see your current storage allocation. Here, you can choose the amount of additional SSD space you need.

Storage is available in 50GB blocks, and each block costs USD $7 per month. You can add up to 300GB of additional space to your plan.

Additional storage cannot be removed while the plan is connected to an active site. However, if the plan is not linked to any site, the storage add-on can be removed.

3. Review and Confirm

Once you've selected your desired storage amount, the total cost, including any prorated charges for your current billing cycle, will be displayed.

Confirm the changes by clicking Change Plan. You’ll receive an email with a receipt for the immediate charge and another email with a summary of your updated subscription with the added storage.

Important Notes

  • Plan Upgrades: If you upgrade to a plan that includes more storage (e.g., from Startup to Performance), any added storage will be absorbed into the new plan’s allocation, eliminating the additional charge..

  • Annual Billing: For annual subscriptions, storage add-ons are charged upfront and prorated for the year.

  • Storage is added in 50GB blocks, so receipts will show multiple blocks if you've added more than 50GB.

  • Possible Downtime: When changing plan or storage, sites may experience a short downtime of up to 5 minutes while the server reboots.

  • New Sites: Additional storage can be added to new sites directly in the new site options.

Conclusion

Adding additional SSD storage to your plan is a simple and flexible way to ensure your site has the space it needs as it grows. By following the steps outlined above, you can easily manage your storage requirements and adjust your plan as necessary.
