Having recent backups of your website is crucial for disaster recovery. In the event of unexpected data loss, a downloaded backup allows you to quickly restore your website's files and database, minimizing downtime and potential revenue loss.
This guide will walk you through the process of downloading a website backup through our user-friendly dashboard.
Step-by-step: Download a Site Backup
1) Navigate to the Backups area
After logging in to the Rapyd dashboard, access the site management area for the site that you want to download a backup for. On the left-hand menu, click Backups.
2) Select the backup that you want to download
In the Backups area, you will see a list of all available backups. You can click on the three dots on the right-hand site to see details about each of your backups. Use this information to determine which backup you want to download.
3) Click Download and review
Once you have determined which backup you want to download, you have two options for moving ahead with the download.
Method A: Click on the Radio button to the left of the backup version, then click Download at the top of the Your backups area. |  |
Method B: Click on the three dots to the right of the backup version that you want to download, then click Download. |  |
Whichever option you choose, you'll be presented with a pop up that gives you a summary of the backup.
4) Click Prepare download to generate download link
Once you've confirmed that everything looks good, click Prepare download. After a moment, a toast will appear that indicates that your backup has begun being prepared for download. You can also see the status of the download link creation process.
5) Download your backup
After a few minutes, your backup will be ready for download. Click on the pink Download button, which opens a modal windows that provides you with the option to download the database and/or files and folders.
Important Notes
When the link is available, an email will be sent to you with the backup download link and the backup details.
Backup download links are only available for 24 hours.
