What are WordPress Pages?

WordPress website pages are part of the site's overall architecture. In pages, you will usually add content that does not require frequent updates. Because to make that happen you have another feature in WordPress called a Post.

WordPress Pages generally show static types of content (content that rarely if ever changes). Examples - an ‘About Us’ page, Contact Us page, Terms and Conditions page, Privacy Policy pages, etc. Pages are not just limited to text but can show different media formats in a great variety of ways.

Before learning more about the common features first let's learn about the common elements of WordPress pages.

Basic Elements of a WordPress Page

To get access to pages of your website in the WP Admin panel, simply select the "Pages" option from the side menu and click on it.

When you arrive at the Pages landing screen, you can expect to encounter a layout resembling the image below. The arrows and numerical indicators provide a visual representation of the fundamental elements that you can anticipate seeing.

  1. All the existing pages will be shown under the Title column. You can click on any of them to directly go to that page and start editing them.

  2. From this Search box, you can look for any of the existing pages of your website. This option works better if you have lots of pages and can not find the desired one instantly.

  3. Published and Drafts are specific tabs that show already published pages and drafted pages of your website.

  4. The Filter option gives you the ability to filter pages by date.

  5. If you want to edit or move multiple pages to trash then the Bulk actions option will help you to make it happen.

  6. Author column shows which admin created which page. It will help you more when you have multiple admins for your site.

  7. Date column shows the current status of the page (published, drafted, etc) and you can arrange pages in ascending or dissenting order by clicking on the Date option.

How to Edit Pages in WordPress

When you need to edit your WordPress site's existing page, hover over the Page name from the Title column. A small menu will appear below the page name from which you can Edit, Quick Edit, Trash, and View that page.
