Steps to Import a Zone File
Access the Domain Directory:
Log into the Rapyd dashboard and navigate to the Domain Directory.Select the Domain:
Find the domain you want to import a zone file for and click Manage.Open the Actions Menu:
Click the Actions button located next to the Add Record button.Choose Import Zone File:
From the dropdown, select Import zone file.Upload the Zone File:
A popup will appear prompting you to upload a supported file.
Ensure your file is in the BIND format, as defined in RFC 1035.
Drag and drop your file or select it from your computer.
Check for Issues:
If the file is valid, you’ll see an Uploaded message in green.
If there are duplicate records or unsupported record types, a notice will appear.
If the file type is unsupported, you’ll be prompted to upload a different file.
Import the File:
Once the file is validated, click Import to finalize the process.
Supported Record Types
The following record types are supported for upload:
A: Points a domain to an IP address.
AAAA: Points a domain to an IPv6 address.
CNAME: Alias for another domain.
MX: Directs email to a mail server.
PTR: Resolves an IP address to a domain name.
SRV: Specifies services available on a domain.
TXT: Stores text-based data for verification or configuration.
CAA: Specifies authorized certificate issuers.
NS: Specifies the authoritative nameservers for a domain.
